upcoming bill in NYC Council to restore voting rights to noncitizens in local elections

The NYC Council will be holding a public hearing on Int 0410 bill (also called the “Voting by Noncitizen Residents”) on May 9, 1PM at 250 Broadway 14 fl in NYC. This bill restores voting rights to noncitizens in local elections. As a previous post by Professor Ron Hayduk made clear, restricting voting rights only to citizens has NOT always been the case and in fact was a farily recent move in American history.
