In all seriousness, I think this list reflects the fact that many people are coming increasingly to realize how large and important an impact immigration has had in their countries. In many of these countries, the very people we consider quintessentially "non-native" are actually the descendants of immigrants. At the very least, the establishment of such institutions reflects our understandings of how complex are our societies and the people that make up those societies.
