Latin-‐American migrations, patterns of settlement and transnational dynamics.
February 29th, 2012. 9:00 am – 6:00 pm.
UMI Transitions, CNRS/NYU
Conference room, 2nd Floor.
We will look into the trends of Latin-‐American international migrations in the 21st century in terms of patterns of settlement. We will also consider transnational dynamics that bind together places of origin and destinations and contribute to new relations between identities and places. Together, European, South American and American scholars, specialized in migration studies, will discuss the situation of Latin-‐American migrations in Spain, the US, Argentina and Bolivia.
Organization : Virginie Baby-‐Collin
(Aix-‐Marseille University, France. Visiting Scholar, UMI Transitions, CNRS/ NYU).
The event is free and open to the public.
Please register before February 24th, so we can plan refreshments and lunch accordingly.
